We traveled to Atlantic City today for our annual poker weekend here. As we were approaching the city, we had a spectacular view of the city and then we saw this. I pointed them out to Ricky and said, “Look, windmills!” To which he replied, “No, Mama, those are winter beans.”
Rick and I looked at each other and tried to translate what our boy just said. Winter beans. Win-ter beans. Win Terbeans. Wind Turbines. Ahhhh…. Rick said, “You’re right, Ricky, those are wind turbines.” Ricky replied, “Yes, they are there to make energy. When they spin, they make energy for people to use.”
And I thought I was teaching him something.
Since there is a great swimming pool here, I was sure to pack our swimsuits. Unfortunately, I forgot Ricky’s floatie. No problem, I thought, since there are about sixty junk shops on the Boardwalk, and we like to take a nice long walk to [...]
