One of the last bastions for US poker players has apparently been closed off. MasterCard has decided to block all online poker transactions from US players. The move is likely spurred by UIGEA legislation being enacted in June –unless the government overturns the legislation before then—and other payment processors having been brought to court and fined by the US government.
This marks the second time MasterCard has taken such action; after the first instance online poker sites changed their codes in order to process MasterCard deposits. However, this time it appears the online poker world is going to press on without MasterCard, as many online sites have removed MasterCard as a deposit option.

   Finalmente chegou ao fim o torneio freezout $2.20 NL Hold’em [$2,000 guaranteed]… o olhos já praticamente não abrem e o cerebro pede descanso mas felizmente ficamos ITM !!! Ainda não foi desta que sentimos a textura do pano da mesa final e um prémio mais a sério, mas melhores dias viram. Dois sucksouts vieram reduzir o stack de 60K para 27K  fomos recuperendo e atingimos os 40K, que algum tempo depois  ‘foi todo’  para o centro da mesa e já não voltou. I am sitting patiently with my pair of 5’s, trying to decide whether to play ‘em or not.  Fairly small stakes, its a $1.20 table on FTP, big blind is maybe up to a 100.  Middle position raises up to 330 and everyone but me folds.  Decisions, decisions.  OK, I’m in for 330, have maybe a grand left behind.  The flop is nothing, nothing, FIVE.  The big bettor goes all in.  It costs me 990 to call and I still have a bit left over.  I mean, could I ask for a better bet?  (As an aside, I LOVE it when I have a good hand and some yahoo is trying to get me off the hand or genuinely thinks he’s good and does what?  Overbets.  What do I do.  Call, call, call.)
